Victory Learning Center

Victory Learning Center: A one-of-a-kind program for dual-diagnosed children

Victory Learning Center programs offer specialized educational services for students who are diagnosed with Autism or a Cognitive Disability paired with a mental-health diagnosis. There are two separate sites conveniently located in Lackawanna, NY, servicing students ages 5-21 who are residentially placed or are referred through their local school district's Committee on Special Education.

Young people receive structured, individualized academia with up to six students with one teacher and three classroom staff members. We work to blend theories and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis, Restorative Practices and Sensory Integration to create a holistic, student-centered approach for teaching and supporting young people. Our unique cross-system program provides an elevated level of care by bridging the gap between treatment and education. Students enrolled thrive best within a high degree of structure, with individualized attention, and with supportive services.

Program Highlights:

  • Classroom ratios include 6:1+3 special classes

  • Experienced professionals including behavior support technicians, social workers, special education teachers, nurses, therapists and vocation and transition specialists.

  • Incorporates creative arts, music and other activities

  • Helps to build functional life skills and pre-vocational skills

  • Collaboration with school districts to ensure continuity of each student's IEP

  • Students 14 and older have the opportunity to participate in work-based learning at worksites across the agency and in the community.
